Having a different notion of daughters in lexical rules and grammar rules 
would require you to make a minor change to the Lisp code.  Specifically
you would have to change expand-rule in main/rules.lsp so that the argument 
lexical-p was passed to establish-linear-precedence and then have a 
parameterised version of establish-linear-precedence in user-fns which allowed 
for the lexical and grammar rules differently.

It's not something I can see any reason to do, though,
