[osmt] migrating the LOGON source tree from CVS to SVN

dear all,

i am planning to migrate the LOGON source tree (for the system, not the
one for the book yet) from CVS to SVN (a modern variant of CVS). that
move will make it easier to share the open-source components publicly,
and it should also give increased speed of access and better comfort.

once the move is complete, it will not be possible to commit changes to
the CVS repository. anyone who wants to stay up-to-date in their LOGON
tree should check out a fresh copy from SVN then. in case you have any
pending changes, now is the time to decide whether you wanted to commit
any of them.

could i ask that people who believe they might have pending changes run
`cvs diff', decide whether there are uncommited changes that should go
into the repository, and if so let me know immediately? i suspect that
very few of you (if anyone) are in this situation, actually.

i expect to migrate the repository on thursday afternoon, so please let
me know before then if you think i should postpone this move.

once again, the LaTeX tree for the LOGON book will not be affected.

                                                   best wishes - oe

nb: francis, i also hope to enable encrypted HTTP access to SVN during
this operation.
