[pet] YY code

hi bernd,

quite a few people make active use of YY input mode, so that should
stay active. as for the socket interface, i believe it has not been
used in a while, but still i would be sad to just ditch it. i could
see functionality of this kind being useful at some point again. it
seems, however, that `yy.cpp' also includes additional code that, just
now at least, looks superfluous (the YY_L2_INTERFACE parts). however,
acrolinx is just preparing a fresh integration, and i imagine it may
come to a relatively similar interface.

maybe we should plan on the following: the YY tokenizer remains; the
socket code should be generalized and separated from the L2 stuff; i
could volunteer to look into that sometime later this year. and when
the acrolinx team has completed their interface, we ditch whatever is
left of the L2 code (that has not been re-used at that point).

does that sound plausible? all best - oe
