[pet] Compilation trouble - Pet 0.99.12

Trying to build Pet 0.99.12 on Debian Etch.  After fiddling around  
for a while I got the configure script to find all the dependencies,  
but when I run make, I eventually get this:

lingo-tokenizer.h:29: error: extra qualification ‘tLingoTokenizer::’  
on member ‘do_it’
make[2]: *** [cheap.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/pet-0.99.12/cheap'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/pet-0.99.12'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this.  Any ideas?
