just to make sure, did you check the system-wide `/tmp' directory, i.e.
the one right below the global root directory (aka `/'); try:

  cd /tmp
  ls *lui*

the LKB uses a different directory `tmp', below your home directory; it
almost sounds as if you might have looked there rather than `/tmp'?
