just to (try and avoid) confusion: bernd was using the string `the fine
system' to refer to the LKB code base, while i realize some people have
used the same string to refer to [incr tsdb()] in the past. myself, i
think of PET as the fine system. confusing that is.

anyway, i just talked to bernd, and in order to build this latest PET
with MRS and FSPP support (e.g. compiling in parts of the LKB sources
with the help of ECL), a few patches need to be applied into the LKB
code base. i'll do the MRS patch on monday, bernd from now on takes
over `ecl-patches.lisp', and bernd and ben will synchronize regarding
FSPP patches. once all of that is complete, we can issue a new build,
and then everyone should be able to build PET with MRS and FSPP :-).

                                                       cheers - oe
