[developers] Do we need to load a grammar to do parse ranking?

The $LOGON/lingo/redwoods/load script always loads a grammar.  Is this
necessary?  For example, I would think that when I'm doing parse ranking I
shouldn't need a grammar loaded after I've cached the features.  Is this
correct?
