There are a couple of quick-start points, aimed at different audiences.
This one assumes that
what you want to do is parse text with the ERG:

These are the instructions I give my grammar engineering students for their
first interactive session
with the LKB:

When you say you have gCLIMB, are you talking about some particular version
of the German
grammar compiled out of gCLIMB? If not, you'll need to do that step first
so that you have a
grammar to play with.
