hi prescott,

assuming you compiled a recent revision off the 'trunk' and did
not active ECL support, i guess you may want to try -mrs=new,
which will activate the native C++ MRS code in PET, instead of
the original Lisp code (which can be compiled in through ECL).

in ongoing development, ECL support is on its way out, and we
will then consolidate the set of valid values for the -mrs option.

best, oe
